About Happy Doggo

Happy Doggo started in early 2021 with the simple act of feeding a few hungry street dogs on Sunday mornings. But this small kindness captivated the hearts of people all over the world and was the catalyst for a much bigger movement.

2021

Humble beginnings

In early 2021, Niall Harbison was recovering from a near-death experience caused by substance abuse. In an effort to get back on track, he started jogging around Koh Samui, Thailand.

Observing many malnourished dogs, he started bringing food to some and sharing the videos online.

2022

Building momentum

Niall's videos started to attract the attention of people all over the world who wanted to help.

He began feeding and vaccinating as many dogs as he could, but he quickly realized that sterilization was the only way to fix the problem long-term.

2023

Going global

In 2023, Niall travelled to Europe, The US, and Dubai organizing walks where dog lovers could meet up, chat, and take in the sights.

Thousands of people turned up and one lucky shelter dog even got rescued.

Today

Creating a sanctuary

Meanwhile, there were still hundreds of sick street dogs with nowhere to go.

Niall secured a piece of land and set about making a sanctuary for dogs to recuperate, taking in only the most sick and vulnerable dogs.

A message from Tay

I first came across Niall when a lovely girl from my community mentioned that I might like his videos. I've always made it known how big of a dog lover I am, and I’ve spread awareness where I can, focusing on areas where my Instagram community can help. I was truly in awe of the work Niall was doing in Thailand, in the jungle. At the time, Niall was feeding almost 100 dogs per day, every day, dedicating his life to helping street dogs in Thailand. When I first saw him, he had maybe 1500 followers, but since then, his mission and community have grown significantly. Our community has raised over £25,000 to support Niall’s mission, which I am very passionate about. The charity now helps thousands of dogs every month and is starting construction on a world-class animal hospital in Koh Samui. I was very honored to be given a trustee role within the Happy Doggo charity, and I am incredibly proud of the work that everyone involved does. It’s beyond selfless, and you only have to follow Niall to see that. We’re very happy to donate a percentage of our company profits annually to Happy Doggo to help fund Niall’s mission. This charity is very close to both mine and Jack’s hearts. Tay xx
